BOOK NOTES

Many have been blessed by Wuest’s helpful insights into the Greek, written for the one who doesn’t understand Greek: The Practical Use of the Greek New Testament, 3.25; Untranslatable Riches, 2.25; Golden Nuggets, 1.45; Bypaths, 225. These are excellent and highly informative.

Lovers of C. S. Lewis can now have Christian Reflections, published after his death. His case for the abolition of church music is provocative, and his reflections on ethics, culture, and prayer are enlightening. 3.95.

If you would like to read some stuff on how human nature is interpreted, a question that perplexes all of us, I recommend Understandings of Man. It states Huxley’s humanistic view, Freud’s psychological view, Kierkegaard’s existential view, Buber on man in dialogue, Niebuhr on man as sinner, which is followed by the author’s own Christian view. Perry LeFevre, the author, is a seminary professor. Here is a book that will leave you a better informed person. 2.45 in paperback.
